KANZEON [off-mic]: Very special job, Jiroushin.
[Applause from the live audience. From the wings, stage left, a wheeled sofa is given a shove onstage. The Sanzo-ikkou are aboard, and the spotlight finds the group clad in zebra-striped tuxedoes over glistening black shirts. Sanzo contemplates his cigarette, Goku and Gojyo wave merrily to the crowd, and Hakkai takes a moment to help Jeep look his best, straightening the fuzzy red-with-white-trim cape and tiny strap-on Santa hat that the dragon is tolerating.]
HAKKAI: Good evening, everyone! We're so glad you could join us tonight. Last year you were kind enough to watch our Christmas Day episode of Saiyuki Reload, "Lovely Baby," with Jeep here enjoying quite the adventure in it! This year we wanted to bring you a Christmas present of a different sort in thanks for your continued support, so...
GOJYO: Except we were too late for Christmas. But hey, it's close enough; it's not like this is a Christmas date or something. It'd be, heh, pretty tough to find a hotel room big enough for all of you and all of us to spend Christmas night together...
GOKU: Christmas night you were hogging our hotel's bath half the night! What were you doing, dating yourself in the tub?! Damn pervert kappa...!
GOJYO: It's called getting clean...
HAKKAI: *Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha*, tonight's show will be nice and clean! We have wonderful musical guests to help make the holidays bright. We might even have a return appearance by that special reindeer who helped us trim the tree last year...!
SANZO: If that "special reindeer" makes a return appearance, it'll be as an empty costume about to get three very dead bodies stuffed inside.
HAKKAI: *Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha*...it's time to get things underway! Please welcome Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell, singing "Silver Bells."
